In Vienna everything happens 50 years later, …
but just 26 years, 2 months and 16 days after the release of Python PyDays Vienna took place. Following PyCons in the US, Slovakia, India, and more Austria finally witnessed it’s first ever Python conference. More than 150 people attended the 22 talks and workshops with speakers from France, Germany, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria. Reflectin Python’s diverse ecosystem, talks covered topics in automation, web development and (data) science. In addition, Austria’s first Django girls workshop and the coala and GitMate hackathon were to attend.

Preceding the conference was Austria’s first Django Girls workshop on the 29th April, a brilliant opportunity to getting the coding world to be more diverse. A week later, May 5th and 6th PyDays 2017 took place, hosted by Linuxwochen Austria at the University of Applied Sciences FH Technikum.

Python, being somewhat like the swiss army knife of programming languages, supports a wide spectrum of applications. This also reflected on the 22 talks and workshops that were presented. From automation to education to web development to (data) science and more.
